Ok, at this point, you are going to continue to work on your photo projects outside of class.
During class we are going to start working with some of the Photoshop tools you will want to use with your photos.
If you are not familiar with Photoshop, you need to first familiarize yourself with the Photoshop work area - tools, palettes, menus, etc. Check out the following tutorial to learn some of these basics:
NOTE: Before doing any of the tutorials below, be sure to open your photo in Photoshop and save it with a different name. This preserves your photo in it's original state.
Now I want you to play around with the filters. This is a fun and easy way to make changes to your photos.
The next Photoshop skill we are going to work with is removing backgrounds. And we will first use the Extract tool to do this. The following tutorial will guide you through the process.
Open the tutorial and review it. Then find a a photo you would like have the background removed and open this photo in Photoshop CS3. Play around with this tool until you get a good idea of how to use it. Save any of your Photoshop work in a separate folder. You always want to keep your original photo intact.
