Angles
So far we have worked with taking the 'big picture' and seeing what was within...photo in a photo. This is a great exercise to help you start looking a things differently. You will never take 'inspiring' photos without learning how to 'see' differently.
Our next assignment was 'framing the photo'. Again, we are forcing ourselves to stop and look around us. Look through the branches of the tree--what can you see through the branches. What natural elements do you see making some sort of a frame around the subject you a viewing? Hopefully, you were able to get some interesting shots for this assignment.
For this week, I want us to look at the information on pages 18 - 23 in your Learning to See Differently textbook. Note the angles from which the photos on these pages are shot.
Do you actually get down on the ground when taking photos of your pets?
Does it make sense that to get a great shot of a child, you would need to get down on their level to take away some of the fear the child might have?
Have you ever taken a photo of a tree or flowers while laying on your back and shooting up?
This is your assignment for this week. The subject of the photo is up to you. The assignment is to shoot from a unique angle: get down on the ground, lay on your belly, or your back. Show me that you are working on trying once again to see things differently which will result in inspiring photos.
When you are finished your assignment, post them to our Flickr account. The set name should be your name - angles.
Have fun and let me know if you have questions!
